BusinessCom and Mitel are challenging Mitel partners with the Mitel Switch Challenge. Over the years, wonderful Mitel solutions have been implemented at an enormous number of customers. This means that there are undoubtedly still huge numbers of old Mitel devices installed at customer sites. The big question: are these devices still future-proof and do they still meet current security standards? Enter: the Mitel Switch Challenge!
With the Mitel Switch Challenge, BusinessCom and Mitel want to help business partners make the Mitel install base future-proof again by replacing old devices with the new generation of IP phones from the Mitel 6900 series.
As an example: Mitel’s 5200 and 5300 phone series have already been End of Life since 2022, but are still in place at a great many locations. That’s a risk, because it means: no more support, no more spare parts available, and most importantly, a greater risk of security incidents.
The Mitel Switch Challenge follows these steps:
- Map out the existing Mitel installations
- Identify where old Mitel devices are still in use
- Start the conversation with the customer about security and lifecycle
- Check the compatibility of the 6900 series with the current Mitel platform
- Replace old Mitel devices with the new generation of Mitel IP Phones
- Have your own sales team earn gift cards
The Mitel Switch Challenge is a win-win: customers’ communication environments are made future-ready again, and attractive upsell deals are generated in the process. As support, BusinessCom and Mitel reward your sales team with gift cards. For every 10 devices purchased, a €10 gift card is earned (see the detailed rules for this challenge at the bottom of this article).

When you’re already reviewing your own Mitel install base, it’s also a good moment to assess whether the platform itself is still future-proof, or whether the customer would be better off migrating to Mitel Subscription.

For every 10 Mitel Subscription users, a €10 gift card is earned. This applies exclusively to migrations, not to new environments.
Rules for the Mitel Switch Challenge
To earn gift cards for your sales team, the following rules apply:
- Gift card credit is accumulated on all Mitel devices from the 6900 IP and 6900 Open SIP series (please note that the Open SIP series does not work on Mitel platforms).
- Participation requires a threshold of 50 devices from the above series to be sold first. After that, a €10 gift card is earned for every 10 devices purchased.
- The start date for the “50-device threshold” is August 1, 2026
- The start date for accumulating gift card credit is September 1, 2026
- A €10 gift card can also be earned for every 10 users migrated to Mitel Subscription
- The Mitel Switch Challenge runs through December 31, 2026. The winning gift cards will be awarded in February 2027.
- Projects with special discount do count toward the 50-device threshold, but do not count toward accumulating gift card credit.
